Biography

I started triple jumping my senior year in high school. It was nothing serious at the time. It was just something to do after basketball season, to stay in shape. My school had no track, just a football field. So learning the proper technique was nearly impossible, not that i really cared to learn the proper technique, i was just out to have fun. I remember the first time I did the triple jump. I went left, right, left. As you all know, you have to jump twice on the same leg, then once on the opposite. My coach pulled me to the side and told me the proper way to triple jump. I tried again, thinking that this motion is very awkward. I went almost the same distance as before. Even though it was my first encounter with this event, i had jump farther than everyone else at the meet. As i got more comfortable with the motion, i went a little farther every meet. That year i went on to win the state championship. Every since that moment, i knew that i could possibly be good at this event. But i still didnt take it seriously giving that basketball was my absolute all time favorite sport.

So i went to college playing basketball, and after the season i went to the track and did the triple jump. Still playing around with it, i ended up qualifying for nationals each year. So then again, i was thinking i could be good at this if i gave it a real shot. So my junior year, i decided not to play basketball and just concentrate with track. The coaches were ok with this and needless to say, i won nationals that same year in the Triple Jump. I have not looked backed since.

Thats what i have been doing since i graduated, just learning the event and getting better each day. Since then i have went on to win 2 USA Championships and make a couple of World Championship Teams. I thank God for my progress and the people that He has put in my life to help my get this far. But i am still not where i want to be. My ultimate goal is to make the 2012 Olympic Team and be a medalist. I really believe this can happen, if i keep working and learning my event. I thank God to have made it this far.

If you would like to donate to help me in my journey, i would greatly appreciate it. Anything is accepted.
